Writer I have been a voracious reader my entire life, starting at a very early age. It was not uncommon for me to read a 700-page book on vacation in a week flat, even at eight years old. Recently, I heard that one of my teachers from last year was using several of my papers as examples for the class that followed me in high school. This got me thinking about writing more seriously (professionally, hopefully). Being an avid reader, one could say I’ve been doing research for a lifetime in the career area of my choice-- writing. I’ve read virtually hundreds of books, and for pleasure, not as part of an assignment from a teacher at school. My favorite genres are fantasy, and science fiction. Since new material of the type I wish to read has become scarce, darn it, I’ll just write some of it myself. |
